| Workload has been heavy these past couple of weeks and I couldn't be bothered to stay behind after work for a movie night (not sure what movie they decided to watch though). Yesterday some of my work colleagues started a conversations over old gaming consoles they had and I was surprised to hear that 2 of them had a Master System (Ah~, the very first gaming console we ever owned) and I'm excited by the prospect of my manager bringing his old Master System.<3 Something interesting I learned at work was concerning youtube. There's a new feature where vocal audio in youtube videos can be automatically recorded converted into text so you can search for videos which will contain such words as well as provide a transcript/captions. I think it also provides translations so if you watch a video in a foreign language you maybe able to somewhat understand what is being said in the video. I think it will be available on youtube next week. ^^ Also, thanks to windyhurrice, I decided to look for Kyou Kara Ore Wa scanlations as I only read 1 volume way back when. Luckily, Mangafox stored a couple more volumes and I've been reading through them during my lunch break and grinning like a goof at some of the gags. XD; Another thing which I discovered (well, months ago) Akio is turning up in almost everything I've seen! Here he's Shiratori (The guy getting his ass handed to him by the main character. Damn, Itou looks so cool!)! The VCDs I had didn't have the optional Japanese audio in some of the earlier OVAs. | |

| I steal from windyhurrice.♥ X3 1. Post a list of up to 20 books/movies/anime/TV shows/video games/bands etc. that you've had an obsessive fannish love or interest in at some time in your life. 2. Have your f-list guess your favorite character/member from each item. ( meme is here ) | |

| Happy Halloween~! Managed to finish up the pic on time! *phew*
Click to see full pic at DABased on "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" - Black Jack as Alucard and Makube as Richter. Been listening to a lot of Castlevania soundtracks to get me in the mood to draw this pic. My most fave soundtrack, " Eneomaos Machine Tower", is one I can listen to on repeat. X3 Other favorite tracks: Bloody Tears, Vampire Killer, Wicked Child, Clockwork, Dead Beat, Aquarius and Richter Belmont's Theme.Anyway, for fun I started thinking about what the other Black Jack characters can fill the roles of the characters in SotN: Maria: Pinoko (perhaps the younger Maria from Dracula X: Rondo of Blood is more fitting. XD) Dracular: BJ's father Lisa: BJ's mother Grim Reaper: Kiriko The librarian: Honma The boatman: Biwamaru Shaft: ? Succubus: ? Originally, I was going to draw Makube as Leon from Castlevania: Lament of Innocence because they both share the same voice actor, but changed my mind as I preferred Richter's outfit more. XD Cloud brushes from redheadstock( And now for something funny~! ^^ )

| I love "Giant Robo The Animation: The Day The Earth Stood Still" and still hold it highly as my all time favorite anime. I was trying to look for videos with Masamichi Amano performing with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra for the GR soundtrack but ended up watching the last episode all over again as it's been ages since I last watched the anime. ^^; Akio!! Akio Ohtsuka again! @_@ He plays Shoriko no Kaei! All this time I hadn't recognized his voice until now. @_@ To make sure that I'm not hearing things I had to confirm this info on some official Japanese GR sites as this role isn't credited on of the English sites. And yes, it's him. XD 0:30 mark in. The guy with the quiver & arrows. ( Spoilers!) (Kenji cel from this scene~!♥)Only found 1 video of the GR Orchestra though. =( Still, it's better than nothing~! ^^ | |

I had the game for a couple of months now, but only recently tried to play the game more seriously. XD; Favorite stages: Karate Man (1 & 2), Munchy Monk (1 & 2) Least favorite stages (or have the most difficulty with): Moai Doo-Wop 2 - I don't know what it is, but I always mess up on this particular stage. X_x; ------------ ★★ Car accidentA weird thing happened when we went out to eat at the restaurant, my bro use to work at, to celebrate his graduation (his former boss offered to throw a nice dinner). Around 10:30pm we heard someone from the kitchen staff say that someone got hit by a car and died right in front of the restaurant! Of course, we all got up and went straight out to investigate. There was a pretty huge crowd right in the middle of the road and the victim was laying on the ground being held up by someone as another person came from a nearby church to cover the victim up with a blanket. Thankfully the person isn't dead, but the head light of the car was completely smashed and the guy was knocked out cold so it's quite a collision. We had our car parked close to the scene too. I returned back into the restaurant but was then told by an amused staff that they put a police tape "around" our car which seemed cute to her. This wasn't good, as I though they must have taped in our car within the scene of the accident, so I went back out to the restaurant front again, then I realized why she found it so funny. Apparently, they they had the police tape go over the roof our car just to have it tied to the little black post that we parked right next to, so half our car is in the scene and the other isn't. ^^; Everyone was already set to close up the restaurant by midnight and my family was getting anxious about how we are to leave. ^^; But by midnight the police have cleared the scene and removed the tape. It turns out that a lot of accidents happen at this particular road. Only 2 days prior there was an accident involving a woman and her children hitting a van and they staggered out of their vehicle in blood. O_O; This isn't far off from where this person got hit. @_@; We never felt more conscious when driving home that night...

| Very pleased that I got Black Jack volume 5 the day after release (no more ordering from amazon.co.uk anymore. "Book Depository" is where it's at!♥) There's an obvious reason why I'm excited about this particular volume, as it has the "Print Proof" chapter in it, now called "Imprint". (Also known as "Carved Seal" and "Kokuin". So may names. ^^;) Anyway, being the happy fan that I am, I made some scans, gag art/comics and nit-pick comments on this English translated chapter. =3 ( Image overload ahoy!! Also spoilers if you haven't got the volume. )OMAKE! A wolf girl who only rescues ugly people. XDD

| Can't let the opportunity pass and I had to get the Ravex Trax album + DVD. Not so much for the music as it was obviously purchased for the DVD animated feature. =P It's The Impossibles! "Rally Ho!!" XD RavexI can't really say much about the story as it is all in Japanese (no subtitles either, which would have been helpful), but you can easily get the gist of it. " As "another story" set after the end of the original manga, this what-if "Return" plot depicts what happens to the title character after his final act to save Earth. After drifting in space, the robot boy is rescued by the three members of ravex, and he is miraculously revived — not by Tezuka's Black Jack surgeon character, but by "Space Jack." The newly evolved robot boy will be named "Ratom."" Quoted from Anime News NetworkActually, Atom was revived by the 3 members of Ravex (with music). Professor Ochanomizu works with Space Jack to create the newly evolved Ratom. There's a reason why Space Jack is needed since the operation involves one other Tezuka character, which you'll see in the screencap below. The story is very straight forward and short: Re-Earth (Earth) is invaded, bad guys attack, good guys lost leader, leader is fused(?) with Atom to defeat bad guys, fight, good guys win, the end. The animated feature focuses mainly on these characters: 3 members of Ravex, Atom/Ratom (Astro), Space Jack (Black Jack), Sapphire, and Melmo. You do see cameos of many other Tezuka characters like Professor Ochanomizu, Tamami, Lamp, Ham Egg, Rock, Leo (Kimba), Unico, Skunk, Hyakkimaru and more. But they (sans Professor Ochanomizu) have no speaking role and are pretty much there for the purpose of... being there. ^^; Oh! And there's some fan service (for the guys that is). Some T&A from dancing scantily clad girls and nude Sapphire bathing in the lake. Music (which is obviously featured and focused a lot on) isn't exactly what I would listen to, but I'm sure others will find it enjoyable if they like upbeat techno dance music. One particular track that stood out to me was "I RAVE U" used during the fight scene, it reminded me of the " Techno Syndrome" soundtrack you hear from the Mortal Kombat movie. I was kind of expecting to hear a random person screaming "MORTAL KOMBAT!!" in the middle of all that fighting. ^^; I just feel that the music doesn't fit too well with the looped, somewhat non-syncing animation of Tezuka's art style. Perhaps if they thought more about making the animation syncing to the music or even changing up Tezuka's art style to something more fittingly dynamic and funky, then maybe it'll work. ( Okay, on with the screencaps! )A personal pet peeve that I do have with this short is the use of loop and recycled animation, like the dancing girls in the beginning are brought back again at the end of the short. You'll just notice all this re-used animation used to fill up time. Also, most common with modern anime, is the over use of glowing and blurring effects. You want to see what Tezuka characters are there during the 'dance' scene, but you can't cause of all the overpowering glowy effects! @_@ Well, in a way the short is purposely made to promote the album so the story isn't going to be ground-breakingly Tezuka, and it's nice to see some favorite characters in there as themselves (in an amusing space theme). =P | |

| Geocities is said to be closing down later this year, which means I have to do some backing up and re-hosting on my own webspace. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/geocities/geocities-05.htmlThough I am glad that they're providing some way to backup sites later this summer, so I guess I can wait until then to back up larger sites and just start moving smaller sites now. Planning:● Sticky Bubble will be the first to move. ● Trash B'z fan art site, I can just merge this with the B'z fanlisting (which desperately needs to be updated. ^^;) ● Gorin's Gym I'll have to wait until the summer. Was hoping to do a 10 year celebration piccy next year for my first website whilst it remained on geocities. ^^; Slight change of plans there. ● Tank Boy I'll backup at summer. Though I'm not too sure about re-hosting it online, or make a complete re-vamp of the site layout and content. I'm kinda sad to see it go, but I can understand why Yahoo would want to shut it down. Pretty much taught myself HTML because of geocities and made my first batch of beloved friends with "Gorin's Gym". Oh well, I can always go on Wayback Machine to see the old site layout. (People sure use to sign guestbooks a lot back then!) Work wise, 4 people have left (not laid off, but left on their own accord). 2 of those people actually have a great deal of understanding about the market and IT, so workload has increased for everyone. ^^; But I do wish them all the best, they were pretty cool to work with. Recently purchased an XM-I X-Mini 2 capsule speaker for my cousin and have tested it on my iPod. Very surprised with the sound quality and how loud it is for such a small speaker! You can make it so loud that the mini speaker itself would tremble and move, but you'll get a bit of sound distortion. Not bad at all! Fully charged it has 11 hrs of playback time! So if you're looking for a portable speaker with long battery life and good sound quality, then this is it! ^^ | |
